On these healthy feet series, I have been sending to you (so far 4 blog posts) one of the things you have learned so far is that the toes need space to spread in order to support the body efficiently.
One of the things you have learned so far is that the toes need space to spread in order to support the body efficiently.
When toes are permanently squashed or too close to each other, they can’t do their job correctly, and that can affect the knees and pelvis.
In order to reverse the damage of squashed toes and start introducing space between them, you can use a very simple but effective tool, your pedicure toe separators.
Many years ago, I used them every day (mainly during the night) for several months to separate and align my toes.
These toe separators can also help with bunions.
When it comes to bunions, the main thing is to keep the big toe from moving towards the other toes and using the pedicure separators will help with that.
I explain in the video that you can sleep with the separators but at home, you can also walk around with them on.
You will need wide slippers or big socks to do that – the slippers I suggested in this blog post will do the job nicely.
You can also use them while you are watching television or reading a book.
The separators will help you to correct the misalignment of the toes and improve the health of your feet, which will, in turn, improve posture.
But, as with any natural healing, it will take its time and so you need to be patient and consistent.
We are moving towards colder days (if you are in the same hemisphere like me) and our feet will be inside shoes and socks most of the time.
But you are now equipped with enough knowledge that will help you keep your feet healthy all year round.
If you want to know more about how to care for your feet I can recommend two books for you, see below.
