Let’s talk about peachy bottoms.
We all want one and you can have it, I will show you how.
But, did you know that the muscles of your buttocks (the gluteal muscles) aren’t only designed to give us a peachy bottom? Also, that a peachy bottom is a sign of healthy gluteal muscles?
What does it mean to have healthy gluteal muscles? – You may ask.
The muscles in your buttocks are, in fact, some of the most important and strongest muscles in your body and essential for good posture.
They are involved in most activities we do in our daily life, such as:
They are, basically, part of any movement we do with the pelvis and there aren’t many things we do in our daily lives that don’t involve the pelvis.
If we don’t work on these muscles, they will become weak or tight, mainly because of a sedentary lifestyle.
Weak or tight gluteal muscles are responsible for many things. One of them is a flat bottom but another more importantly, is pain in the pelvis area. The pain or discomfort can be felt by doing anything that involves the pelvis.
Weak/tight gluteal muscles won’t be able to support your daily activities efficiently.
How do you know that?
Well, you know it if balance is an issue for you or you find it is painful when moving from a sitting to a standing position, or going up or down the stairs or you can’t squat or bend over easily.
Tight gluteal muscles will also fix the body in awkward postures. An example of this is having one leg longer than the other. This is because one side of the pelvis is lower than the other and the person is tilted to the side.
Overall, healthy gluteal muscles will make you feel stronger in yourself and help you go about life moving more easily and freely.
And of course, they will help you have good posture with no effort.
So, let’s give those buttocks muscles some attention, on a regular basis and enjoy a peachy bottom.
